About
Hello, and welcome to my blog. If you want to know more about me and my blog, this is the right spot!
About me
Who am I? I’m Radiant. What is there to say about me? I enjoy a slow pace with life, playing games, either video or board games variety, collecting, writing, drawing, or (trying) to play music.
Some dislikes are loud people (tell them to be quiet!), smokers (especially in a public area), dishonest people, and now Windows (lol). I use Arch, btw.
What are my favorite games? Hard choices.
For video games: Wonder Project J2, Fallout: New Vegas, Smash 64 (not Remix), Mario 3.
For Table tops: Risk Legacy Season 3 (season 2 is okay, season 1 blows), Space Hulk, Munchkins Dungeon, and Fire & Stone: Siege of Vienna (it’s a very lopsided game but fun.) Root has been a recent enjoyment as well.
Though maybe not among my favorites, I love Final Fantasy 11 and Old School RuneScape, which are the only real MMOs I’ve gotten into unless you want to count virtual chat rooms like Club Penguin as an MMO.
Favorite music: Truth be told, I’m not much of a music listener, but I enjoy jazz, all forms of it. I also enjoy metal, but not so much super heavy stuff. I don’t mind it either. Outside of that, it’s mostly video games and remixes/covers of those games. (I’m pretty lame lol)
I say all of this despite having nearly 8k songs(!!!!!!), mainly in FLAC/WAVs. I guess it’s an addiction.
What does Radiant Ink mean?
Well, nothing. Radiant is a handle I like to use often, but what about Ink? One thing that interested me in running a blog was the nostalgia of the early 2000s, when artists would commonly have their own website, and one of those was called “India Ink.” There’s not a whole lot more than that to the answer.
What are the goals for the blog?
To get me back into doing more art or a place to post random thoughts that I don’t know where else to post them. It’s also a place to host some tutorials as well.
What do you use to draw?
I use a small Wacom Intuos as my drawing tablet of choice. I don’t need a bigger surface space; I don’t feel like the lack of a screen has negatively impacted my art.
When I drew on the mouse, I used the Wick Editor, which is a great tool for animation but has some pretty decent tools for drawings, like layering, coloring, different widths, pressure-sensitive options, etc.
Now I use Krita. I’ve tried The Fire Llama but didn’t like the UI, which works. It has a lot of great brush options, and the coloring capabilities are great, too. It works out of the box for Linux and Wacom drivers.
