Art tutorial 5, final
Hopefully your art has been great!
We’ll be finishing up the art, cleaning it up, and making some fixes. This isn’t a tutorial on coloring or shading, but I may do that in the future.
So we need to make some hair and ears for our character still, and perhaps work on the eyes a bit more.
If we use the analogy that a face is basically a mask, then the head is like a mannequin; if the hair is done right, it’ll look natural and flow well. At this point, the measuring lines are no longer needed, so you can hide/remove them. If you do it with a pencil, you have to make sure you don’t erase it too hard, or else it’ll smudge the paper, and it won’t look well.
Hair is typically two eyes high above the eyes, with the eyelashes one above the eye. Hair will typically cover the whole top and backside of the head, but if you want it to be less, then you’re more than welcome to it. Once again, start simple, don’t try to overdraw the hair design, detail can go in later.
A good way to clean up art is to actually redraw it, this will make things looks more consistant, isntead of trying to cut half of it, and drawing over it.
After a few minutes, here we are! I quite like how it turned out. Just remember, practice makes perfect~!
